It's been a while since I've posted anything about home PVR's, but I found a wonderful little device that just might make the whole cheap PVR thing work. Western Digital has come out with a HD media player that you can plug into your TV and play HD media from removable media. You could use it to play HD media through your computer monitor (HDMI enabled), so you wouldn't have to buy a full out TV. For about $250 ($100 dollars for the player, $150 for the monitor) you can have a full out media center for your kids' cartoon DVDs. The best idea here is that you can buy the season of the show instead of paying for cable. Beside that, you can double the monitor for TV and the computer.Thursday, August 27, 2009
